As far as I know, there are no aftermarket barrel makers making a direct replacement barrel for these. Once a sear engagement adjustment was added in the first year or two, the triggers became pretty darn good. By changing springs and honing the engagement surfaces, most Kimber triggers can be safely reduced to about 1 to 1.5 pounds.The .125 drill is a bit oversize for a no. 8 fine screw but will make tapping much easier. This is a particularly bad problem with rimfires as you are usually shooting at very small targets at half the range or less of the parallax setting on centerfire scopes. But, I suspect a pillar and bedding job or a cheaper stock or chassis may have achieved the same thing at a much lower price.
